A Frank Blazquez & Jodie Herrera art exhibit.

The Nuevo exhibit opened in July of 2020 at the historical Ruppe Drugstore in Barelas, NM. Nuevo featured the solo and collaborative work of photographer Frank Blazquez and oil painter Jodie Herrera. Although the exhibit’s body of work stood apart in mediums, the work united in how the artists utilize subjects from their communities as inspiration and the focus of their work. As New Mexican artists, their work was selected to be paired for the Nuevo exhibit due to their contributions to Southwest Contemporary and the works success in being well received locally and outside the boundaries of New Mexico. Allowing the faces and stories of New Mexico to evoke and inspire nationally.
